Meet the Artist | Mark Seamans

Creating has always been a part of who I am. Ever since I was a kid, I loved to draw, build, and bring ideas to life. By the time I was sixteen, that creative spark turned into a passion for building furniture. Working in the lumber yard at a local hardware store, I would use every slow moment to craft something new, anything I could dream up.

Eventually, that passion grew into my own custom furniture shop, where I specialized in building the kinds of pieces you could never find in stores. I have always loved the challenge of taking on what seems impossible and figuring out how to make it real.

At 29, as a proud father of three, two daughters and a son, life took a new turn. I became a Production Manager in a manufacturing shop for Corrections Canada, overseeing the creation of millions of dollars’ worth of furniture each year. It was an incredible experience, but after so many years surrounded by sawdust and lumber, I felt it was time for a change.

That change came in the form of a simple Christmas gift from my amazing wife, a charcoal drawing kit. I hadn’t drawn in about 15 years, so at first, it sat untouched. She joked one day, “Maybe the charcoal wasn’t such a good idea for Christmas, huh?” Feeling guilty, I decided to give it a try. That was January 16th, 2016, the day everything changed.

Since that moment, I have created thousands of drawings for people all around the world, from Canada and the U.S. to Europe and even Egypt. Every piece tells a story, and every supporter, whether through a purchase, a like, a share, or a kind message, means more to me than words can say.

Art has become my balance, a mix of peace, focus, and emotion all rolled into one. Every day, I strive to grow, to create better than I did the day before, and to stay grateful for everyone who has joined me on this journey.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping me turn a passion into a purpose. I truly wouldn’t be here without all of you. ❤️
